DiagnoDent

The DiagnoDent is a laser decay detection instrument that painlessly measures the change in fluorescence of the dentin caused by decay. This measurement is given as a digital readout between 0 and 99. Generally speaking, areas that measure 30 or higher should be treated. Because of its sensitivity, the DiagnoDent is able to detect decay in the dentin that is not visible either on an x-ray or by looking at the tooth.
