First Visit
When you arrive for your first visit, we will ask you to fill out several forms that will help get us acquainted with you. Please be prepared to provide complete insurance and health information that will allow us to begin. An initial exam typically lasts one hour. A review of your dental history will allow us to more personally serve you and specifically address any concerns you have with your dental health. We will do a thorough evaluation of your teeth and gums. A series of intraoral photographs will be taken of your teeth, as well as any digital radiographs required to complete your comprehensive evaluation.
Depending on the results of your initial exam, your next scheduled appointment may be with one of our hygienists. At that time your teeth will be professionally cleaned and personalized oral hygiene instructions will be given. We will also go over the findings from your initial exam, including an outline of any existing dental problems, proposed treatment options, and fees. There are times when it is much more beneficial for us to sit down together at a separate second visit to ensure ample time to discuss your present conditions and treatment options. If that is the case a third appointment will be scheduled for you with our hygienist. Depending on your needs that appointment will be for a routine cleaning or for periodontal therapy if an active gum disease is present.
